Overview
About Me
I'm a final year university student heading to Berlin to study German philosophy for summer school. But before that, I'll be making a pitstop in northern Italy to do a bit of hiking and lakeside living. I'd love to connect with locals around the area!
Some other (random) facts about me:
* I'm more of a morning person than a night owl, but I'd find a night out with live music and dancing hard to resist.
* A great cup of coffee is my favourite way to start the day.
* My love for food (and possibly dogs) is the closest thing I have to a religion.
* I have a personal tradition of visiting a jazz bar and/or a secondhand bookstore in every city I visit.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To get in touch (and hopefully also keep in touch) with people who know a destination inside-out. I believe that a place is only as brilliant as its people: I'm more interested in discovering your favourite haunts than trawling overly touristy spots.
I'm also trying my best to learn Italian and German through Duolingo, and it would be amazing if I could practice with a someone fluent in these languages.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I absolutely LOVE the soundtrack of Hamilton: An American Musical (I know almost every word and have even read Chernow’s biography!). I adore jazz and instrumental piano as well, but indulge in a trashy pop playlist from time to time.
Films: Call Me by Your Name, Miss Sloane, Cold War, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and... Tangled (I love her zest for life).
Current Favourite Book: A Gentleman in Moscow for its sheer lyricism.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went on an impromptu one-night jaunt to Yosemite when I was on a school trip to San Francisco. I had some studying to do, which means that I had to hike up Upper Yosemite Falls with my laptop and textbooks in tow.
Teach, Learn, Share
* I'd love to learn about your life experience and discover your favourite haunts.
* I can share with you about Singapore! Despite its shortfalls, I'm incredibly proud of my country and how far it has come since independence.
* I can teach you some conversational Mandarin and, if you have trouble learning, how to use chopsticks the proper way (I find eating with chopsticks way more fun than Western cutlery).
* Let's swap titles of our best loved books, films, and music: I'm always on the lookout for new material.
