About Me

Hi!

Estelle:
I am a 23 year old girl from Lyon (France). I recently graduated from an engineering school in plastics (textile) in France. Then I found an internship in Italy and now I'm in Australia studying innovation at the University of Queensland (Brisbane). I would be graduated in July and plan to travel with Pierre afterwards!
I've always loved traveling and discovering other people's routine, new cultures, new food, new cities, new architectures, new languages and making new friendships :)

Pierre:
I am a 21 year old boy from Bordeaux and I am studying Translation and Interpretation in Paris. My mother is Mexican and my father is French. I used to go to Mexico see my family every summer before but now I try to travel to other countries if I can :). Last year I spent 4 months in London and studied at the University of Westminster as an Erasmus student.
I think I love traveling and learning about other cultures because I was born in France from a Mexican mother, so I was raised with two very different cultures, and I am used to seeing thing from two very different points of view, which is pretty useful sometimes :P

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We think couch surfing is a cool way to meet new people and learn a lot of things about a city, discover a new culture, make new friends and move beyond stereotypes! We really hate it when people come to France and only go to the 2 most touristic places in Paris, so we hate doing that when we travel. We think it is so much more interesting to really get to know the habits of the locals and to go to the typical places of the country rather than going to the most crowded touristic places just to take a picture. Besides, it is so much fun to discover a country with real local people and go to places you would never have seen otherwise don't you think? :)

It would a pleasure to welcome you in our respective houses if you ever go to Bordeaux, Lyon or Paris :)

Interests

Estelle:
I am a curious girl and I am pretty interested about many things!
I use to dance for years (approx. 13 years of ballet) and ski (since I'm a baby girl:)
I'm working on textile which means that of course I'm interested about textile! I also really love dancing rock'n roll and dances for 2.
I would love to learn drawing and to be a skipper!:) I'm currently learning about photography.

Pierre:
I have been playing guitar for 9 years now, I used to have a pop/rock band with my friends in Bordeaux, I am really passionate about music :). Apart from that I am the kind of guy who really enjoys listening to music, playing poker or just having a chat about anything with a beer in my hand and fun people :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Estelle:
I listen rock'n roll, french songs (Edith Piaf, Aznavour....), pop rock, italian songs and electronic music (on party).
My favorite movie is probably Dirty Dancing :) Even if I can watch many kinds of movies and series. I just don't really enjoy scary ones!!
I've always loved reading books and mostly books teaching me something (about other cultures, autobiographies,....)

Pierre:
I have so many favorite bands: The Black Keys, The Arctic Monkeys, Phoenix, Jack White, Miles Kane, The Kills, The Dead Weather, The Strokes just to name a few
My favorite movie of all time is Inception, I've watched it like 25 times and I don't mind watching it again and again :)
My favorite book is "And then there were none" from Agatha Christie

Estelle:
I can teach you French or Italian or about textile (how are they made...) or even show you some easy dance moves :)
I would like to learn about your culture!

Pierre:
If we had enough time I could teach you how to play the guitar a little bit. Otherwise I can teach you french or spanish, or how to make an Origami boat that can float! :)
