ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm a twenty-three years old swiss girl currently studying at Waseda University in Tokyo. I have been living in Japan for a year overall and have been backpacking by myself in a few different countries, such as New Zealand, Israël and Japan. Travelling is what I like the most, and I am always eager to talk with new people and discover new point of view!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I usually travel alone, but I love meeting people and I think Couchsurfing is a great way to meet different people with different interests.
Interests
I love drawing and taking pictures. I am currently really interested in architectural photography, and am planning on writing an illustrated book with my pictures. If you have any experience in photography, I would be more than happy to learn from you!!!
I am learning the incense ceremony (香道) in a circle at Tokyo University and am really interested in traditional japanese culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love fantasy movies and books- I've been travelling in New Zealand and enjoying the beautiful landscapes of The Lord of the Ring... *_*) and I am a fan of historical dramas (my favourite one is the chinese drama called "Nirvana in Fire" or 琅琊榜). I also like Murakami Haruki's books and mangas and animes (I grew up with Ghibli movies and I can quote almost all the lines of Princess Mononoke...)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My first time coming in Japan was when I was 18 years old. At that time, I travelled alone in Japan for a few months and then settled in a host family in Nagano for three months during winter. One night, I went out of the house to call my friend (I didn't wanted to disturb my host mother who was sleeping). When I cam back, I found out that my host father had locked the door and that I was stuck outside. Since I was a bit afraid of my host father (he was a serious person), I didn't dare to wake my host family up and spent the whole night outside, walking around in the city, taking pictures and discovering Nagano at night (it was minus 8 degrees at that time)... I though I was gonna die that night, but afterwards it became amazing memories!
Teach, Learn, Share
Did you know? We have three different official languages in Switzerland. German is the most spoken one (althrough it is usually swiss german), then comes French and then Italian. My native language is French, but I have been learning the two other at school for a few years.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to share language, travel tips, cooking recipes and cultural anecdotes!
