About Me

I am a Catalan / Spanish woman living and working in London since April 2014. I worked as a Chef and now as a nanny and in a very trendy club in London.

I am currently looking for a place to stay in Wales for my only short trip out of London since I arrived in UK last year (I am really excited about it, specially because I have never been in Wales!!). I will need accommodation from the 23rd to the 27th of July 2015, so just for 4 nights, but I might go to different locations, so it might be just for a couple of nights (I haven-t decided yet, though). My idea is to explore the Pembrokeshire Park area...

I am an open-minded person, very easy-going and eager about meeting people that can always bring me new experiences. I love a chat with old and new friends, a glass of wine an home-made food (or just some French or Spanish Cheeses... yummy!!!). A beer or two are also very welcome, like going out to dance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used many times an older network for travelers called HOSPITALITYCLUB.ORG. I really think it is a great way to learn more about people and culture of the place you are visiting, what is actually what I am more interested in.

I like to travel through meeting people, so if I have guests at home is for me a bit as travelling myself.

Interests

Theatre, literature, movies: Since my arrival in London, I have seen many plays (e.g. A Doll's House, The Last Days of Troy, drag queen shows, etc). The last book I read was a Spanish play translated to English called Tejas Verdes, which portrays the torture and murder of left-wing committed people during the Pinochet dictatorship. And I am currently hooked on "Orange is the New Black" series, after having seen the whole 5 seasons of "Breaking Bad"!! Addictive both! The last film I really enjoyed was "Pride".

Aquatic sports and cycling: I cycle through London to get to work and I am going to a gym to have some swim twice a week. Last one was in the Lady's Pond in Hampstead Heath, North London. Amazing wild swim among ducks!!

I am also interested in politics, Real Democracy... but I don-t want to bore anyone with that... :)

Music, Movies, and Books

World music (flamenco, gypsy music, gnawa music, etc), disco music of the old times (80s, 70s, 60s...), good house music... Actually, anything that makes me dance (which it is quite easy... but not bachata or salsa, please... It might be good for you, but I can't stand it for more than a couple of songs!)

My favourite filmmaker is Lars Von Trier and I love nearly all his films, specially "Breaking Waves" and "Idioterne".

Books: it is really difficult to choose!! Let's say "Le Petit Prince", which I've read thousands of times... (poor naive of mine...) :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It seems like the section to impress someone...

For me, the most impressive thing I've done is to leave my friends and family and move to a foreign country to look for a better life. ( And still I am enjoying it a lot!!!).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make a proper Spanish Omelette (tortilla de patatas). Amazing. Really. You will love it. Addictive.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My experiences and what I learnt.
My hospitality. My friends. All the best I can do for them.
