Greetings!

I am a performance poet, musician, and graduate student in experimental geosciences. I am dedicated to health, happiness, and peace and I try to use my energy in ways that will help others and our environment.

My curiosity about world cultures, the Earth, and a love for learning languages has inspired my heart to travel all over the world and to try a wide variety of new experiences. I began working when I was 13 and always saved my money to be able to travel. I was an exchange student in Brazil when I was 15-16 and then backpacked through Europe as a teenager in the years 2000-2001. At age 20, I returned to spend a few more years in Brazil before starting my university education in 2005. Much to my surprise, I discovered a passion for physical science (geology, chemistry) and excelled in my studies, despite being several years older than my peers. I am now in a PhD program in experimental geochemistry in Germany. I enjoy combining my passion for both science & arts in a special form of science- and math-related performance poetry and music.

Like most people, I find myself on a journey through life on both the inside and outside. I'm not afraid to try new things and I really enjoy meeting new open-minded people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I earned my Dive Control Specialist /Dive Master / Assistant Dive Instructor certification while working on a boat on the Great Barrier Reef out of Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia. In my eye's experience, the Earth's most beautiful places are underwater. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I turned my 10-minute performance poem, "Tectonic Petrameter: A Spoken-Word Journey Through Earth History," into a play that can be used as a teaching tool for earth science classrooms.
