About Me
CURRENT MISSION
No clear mission, I try to enjoy life in my way :-)
ABOUT ME
I see myself as a young happy guy with a main interest in cities and their living conditions. I love to get to know a city by seeing or doing more than the touristic must-do or must-see's.
Totally in love with metro systems, public transportation in general and fountains, so Paris is my big love. Berlin, Madrid and Barcelona are other favs.
If I am on a holiday I like to see or do as much as possible: cruising through the city by day, discovering the nightlife, and meeting locals for a good time.
I'm gay, which is maybe interesting to know. It doesn't mean that I don't like girls (I do have nice girlfriends!) but for instance to go partying I prefer gay(friendly) places :)
AS A GUEST
If I'm traveling, whether it's alone or with friends, I'm usually quite independent: I love to plan, to know what I want to see or do, so mostly I don't expect hosts to show me around or to join me to see the main tourist stuff (although it's nice to share the moments if possible!). I don't mind to go into town on my own, with my book and with my smartphone :-). However, I always try to be nice and thankful for a host, for instance by bringing a present, prepare a meal, or help in another way :).
AS A HOST
My couch is in fact the couch in the living room and i have flatmates. So it's not a separate room and you may not sleep as late as you want if other people are walking around (although I will ask my flatmates to be a bit silent and avoid entering early). Also, even if I like planned meetings, I don't like to plan activities with hosts too much. I prefer my guests to be as myself when i'm a guest: not too demanding, independent,.. I have seen most parts of Ghent/Belgium enough and I'm not always in the mood or I don't have the time to be a guide. However, I love to give information or directions, and if I'm free, if the weather is good or if i feel like joining, I will like to go with you. Just don't expect it immediately.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started couchsurfing around 2009 but became more active since 2012. Traveled and hosted some times. I met cool guys through this medium and I love to continue that!
I love the economic part of it, since couchsurfing has saved me quite some money that I otherwise would have spent on ho(s)tels, but I also valued the information you can't find on the internet, but that my hosts provided me. I love to do the same for the people I host.
