About Me

Hola dear people :)
I'm Eszter, born and raised in Budapest, lived one year in Poland, keen on travelling and trying out new ways of that so I'm kind of flexible and very open to broaden my horizont.

I love to be creative and challenged, do hiking or going to theatre, creating things, dancing like crazy and organizing events, camps, workshops, showing around in my city, rolling on hills, jumping around, laying in the grass and just being.

I've studied psychology for two years, then I was feeling a little lost, so decided to apply for such an amazing thing as EVS, so I was in Poland on my adventurous volunteering and I've gained a lot (like new lovely friends, surprisingly much knowledge about myself and about other cultures and people, bunch of done things for the first time stuff, etc.). This is where my Erasmus+ life has started and from that moment I had a long phase when I felt unstoppable to do more and more projects with such amazing people and learn about other cultures and myself as well.
Now I started a master programme in Salzburg, new uni, new country, new chances to get more friends :)

For more than four years I'm vegetarian andhad some time experimenting with becoming vegan, too. This is connected with my other interest on trying to be as sustainable as possible (I don't go hardcore, but I really try my best to do so)

I come from a big family (two sisters and two brothers, yes, we could form a basketball team, I know :D), so I like to be surrounded with people, I'm quite used to it :) As it is like this, I love to meet people and share my experiences with them or just listen to their adventures, too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Of course, because I love to travel and see unknown places, make new friends and get closer to new cultures. As I see couchsurfing is about looking at places through locals' eyes which is one of the greatest thing what could happen to me when I travel.

I've done my first couchsurfing while I was volunteering in Poland and it was amazing so now in this new city of Salzburg I wanna continue experiencing it, I really believe in sharing what we have, so I promise I will help you out if I can!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music. Man, it' a hard topic and possibly impossible to describe my taste. Some days I listen to Hungarian alter bands, some days are dedicated to System of a Down or Queen, on others I am fine with classicals like Wagner or Dvorak, nowadays it's more in the direction of techno and French stuff.

It doesn't get easier with books, because I looooove reading, but to mention a few I like Bulgakov and Darvasi (he's a Hungarian author) and I'm up for some fantasy books, too.

I can tell you I'm a big fan of LoTR, and I like Nolan's movies as well, not to mention Call me by your name, some Hungarian movies as On Body and Soul or Rossz versek.
In the past years I had quite a lot of free time, so I watched many series (my absolut favourite is Stranger Things, but I also like the Peaky Blinders!!, the Fargo, Friends, Game of Thrones, Sense8, Black mirror, Please like me, Sharp objects, Outlander, etc.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't decide on one particular thing, if you wanna know any ask me when we meet!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like cooking and painting, drawing (but I'm really not professional, just following my guts).
I love movies (every kind of, don't worry), and contemporary literature so I can share my knowledge with you about Hungarian books or poets, movies, cool places, great and maybe hidden opportunities.
I am greatly interested in green-living, so I can teach you some life-hacks or show you some good spots in Budapest related to it.
I'm also super-up for a good talk everytime, but if you wanna teach me your favourite recipe, don't stop yourself!!
I know a bunch of games and great team-building excercises, so if you are interested, let me know

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you are interested in Hungarian culture (even in Polish - now I'm an expet of it;) ) I would be glad to tell you something about us, it makes me always very happy to show some of our great musics, I can garantuee you that we'll find something good for you. But I also like to talk about psychology (as I learnt it), arts (any of them, and if you are also keen on them, maybe we can make something together - I have to admit that I love painting, although I've never learnt it), theatre (yesss, I really believe in it, I had the chance to experience mindblowing pieces, my absolutely favourite group is k2 - a kind of young company that writes and plays ammmaaaazing things) and food for sure. I'm in love with eating, so this topic is endless for me ;)
