About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Take a few risks.

ABOUT ME

I am a kiwi guy who went travelling straight out of high school and have been exploring ever since. I enjoy my job which has a great work life balance. My family is large, as I have 8 siblings, and I now have 14 nephews and nieces. I am also a “Gruncle” as some of my nephews and nieces have had children making me a Great Uncle.

I often get focus from running and have competed in a few half marathons but when it comes to sport, I enjoy squash and ultimate.

We share our home with our cat, Cornelius Pudge, a beautiful but not too bright, ginger shorthair.

PHILOSOPHY

"Don't live life with regret". I once believed that this cliche was about making a conscious decision to chose not to regret until a mentor of mine shared a pearl of wisdom. "People often have regret because their ex ante view doesn't line up with reality".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosted more than I have surfed but have been to a lot of events in Berlin.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with a couchsurfer in scotland when i travelled there for a 3 day visit with a friend. My host was incredible and showed us all around edinburgh. Otherwise, I've surfed about 3 or 4 times in Germany :D

When studying back home, I hosted for those years.

Interests

Squash and utimate frisbee. I am also known to raise my voice a few decibels when I get the chance to talk about economics. For all those who have visited New Zeland, they will know that every kiwi has a deep love of marmite. With friends, I will often go on a hitch hiking trip but it was also my main mode of transport when I was in Europe.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Black Keys would be my number one favourite, however, I do have a soft spot for some of Paolo Nutini's music and recently Lewis del Mar. I also enjoy The Raconteurs and Arctic Monkeys. For a feel good vibe, i'll listen to Jack Johnson. The Getaway album from the Chilli's is also bloody fantastic.

Movies=something that makes you think like Interstellar, Arrival and even the slightly tacky movie 'Now you see me'. However my all time favourite TV series is Survivor, I have even got my partner to watch it with me as we bet a dinner date on who the winner of each season will be (we have yet to be right in our guess). It is coming up to its 34th season and I still love it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sky diving and hitchhiked in Europe, slepping in a barn, a playground, a train station, under a bridge.
