ABOUT ME

A small town boy from Maine (northeast USA) turned big city guy turned globetrotter. I love to write, paint, read, hike, adventure, travel, and meet people who open me up to experiences that aren't yet on this list.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm taking a leave of absence from college for one year to travel and study abroad.

I'm starting in London, going through the Netherlands, Germany, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy and Greece. Then hitting up Istanbul before flying to Spain/France. Then I'm working for five months and THEN I'm headed to Brazil for two more to work on my Portuguese :)

If you have any suggestions, I'm fairly flexible, so let me know!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is going to be my first time.

Interests

Walking around is one of my favorite hobbies. I love to explore new areas, see how people are interacting with one another and the world, and giving myself time to think. I also love meeting new people - let's grab a drink! - and making new friends around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC:
I enjoy Cher, Evita, Wicked, Chicago, Five For Fighting, The All-American Rejects, Sheryl Crow, The Lion King, The Fray, Owl City, Relient K, Coldplay, Sara Bareilles, Al Daughty, Rent and Many More. I also like Glee! Oh! And classical music!

BOOKS:
Personally I LOVE Atlas Shrugged. Ayn Rand is an amazing writer. Other favorites include Brave New World and Frankenstein. When I'm not reading stuff like that, I love to sit down to a crappy fantasy; they kinda make my life!

MOVIES:
The Brothers Bloom is wonderful. I also enjoy Amelie, Priceless (the French version), The Matrix, LOTR and a bunch of others!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding through the Alps in the light snow, sipping a cup of hot chocolate. The beauty of the land was overwhelming - I hope to be able to visit it again.

Again with the snow. Walking through the streets of Paris during the twilight hours with a friend, and not being able to make out the famous sites that I had always read about until we were nearly upon them.

The Musee D'Orsay. I am a painter before anything else, and this was definitely the most amazing collection of artwork that I have come across.
