I'm a Canadian who has just completed my Master's in Victoria, BC after three years of teaching English in Taiwan. Been travelling a bit, but would love to travel more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Right now, I'm mostly a Couchsurfing newbie! I've lived with Couchsurfers, but now that I'm finally doing some solo travelling, I thought it would be the best time to sign up myself.

Intereses

Writing, old school Pokemon, music in general, reading an amazing book in a café overlooking a beach, every aspect of the culinary arts from experimenting in the kitchen to eating to trashy cooking shows.

Movies: Snowpiercer, Princess Mononoke, Bon Cop Bad Cop, Lady Bird, Coco

Music: I'll take anything with a strong vocalist and an interesting backing track. My all-time fave is Queen, but I'm currently really into Billie Eilish, K'Naan, and pretty much anything Spotify chooses for my Discover Weekly.

Books: Anything David Mitchell has ever written, The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman, the Dark Tower series, Maus, and I grew up on Harry Potter.

Standing on a peak overlooking Lake Bled in Slovenia. I'm not the most athletic person in the world, and in a small way I'm really proud of pushing myself to my physical limits in order to enjoy a place of spectacular beauty.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I'm always eager to learn anything new, especially if I don't understand it immediately. On the flip side, I just finished my Master's thesis on early 20th century Russian-Jewish literature, masculinity, and identity! More than happy to share stuff about that.
