About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel Europe; explore what life (or lives) I could've had if I hadn't moved out of Portugal or Germany!

ABOUT ME

a bit hard to condense, but here are some adjectives that come to mind: compassionate, easy-going and not often serious, very social, independent, a bit sarcastic, often laughing + making others laugh

PHILOSOPHY

From 2012 Baccalaureate Service: “The updraft of inexplicable luck”

"We tend to assign a meaning, a logic, even to things that are random or fortuitous. [...] But the problem is that over time, opportunity can come to seem like an entitlement, ours because we deserve it. We cease to recognize the role of serendipity, and we risk forgetting the sense of obligation that derives from understanding that things might have been otherwise."

- President Faust

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently traveling. I'm so excited to get out of my bubble and meet people from all over Europe!

Open to hosting in the future when I find an (tiny but comfy) apartment in New York City.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm completely new to couchsurfing! This upcoming trip will be the first time I will have tried it out. Excited to explore!

July 8, 2012 Update: couch-surfed in Lisbon & Aveiro, Portugal, Nice, France. Very lovely experiences all around : )

Interests

Sleeplessness, procrastinating, making itunes/spotify playlists, traveling by myself//sleeping on airplanes, over-thinking, over-philosophizing [what does that even mean?].

In the past few years, I've been deeply interested in social entrepreneurship, international development, and studied social theory/international relations/psychology in college. I like to muse about how our cultures/environs/pasts shape our decisions, habits, and lives, about what makes us happy, overthink some things, and learn about both friends and strangers that surround me.
