About Me

I am Eugénie, 25 years old and I am french.

After my master degree (I finished in september 2015), I decided to leave France to have a first working experience abroad. I found a great opportunity in Lisbon where I worked in Marketing for a ductile iron tubes company (Glamour isn't it?). I stayed there for a year, the 6 months in London and now I am back in Paris for some time but I'd like to travel a lot, particularly in South America, Australia (and Asia after Australia).

My dream is to realize a 1 year world tour travel in 3 years. I am from now living my life always thinking about this goal.

I did an exchange year in Mexico and it made me realize how awesome is our planet and how much I would like to know more about it, and about people living on it. I want to discover others cultures and others ways of living.

I am found of animals and would like to do more to help nature. Is it one other important goal in my life. Younger, my dream was to become a vet.

I'd like to meet many people here in Lisbon and make friends and go out and travel with people. I hope it'll be possible now.

To finish, I must say I am in a period of my life which makes me ask a lot about myself, my future, what I want to do and what kind of life I would like. I think people and experiences are somehow what could help me finding answers..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In Lisbon, I was working in a very nice and interesting atmosphere (I loved my job, life, friends and everything there) and my colleagues were very nice but they were older and had families. They didn't have time for me after work.
During the first months I didn't really had the opportunity to meet people and I thought: let's try many ways and let people come into my home as I have lots of space!

As I stayed Lisbon for a year, I really wanted to meet people and make friends and go out at nights and on weekend.

For this reason, I realized this website is a good way to meet people and have fun with them! Also, it gives you the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and travel in your mind with them when you cannot go to their country for now :)

Anyway, I learnt about this really nice website a long time ago and always thought that I should be on it. Now, it is done.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I realized a 10 days road trip with 3 friends in Baja California, Mexico.
We went there only with tents, backpacks, motivation and our book "guide du routard".

It was an incredible experience, full of surprises and of "we don't know where we will go tomorrow but we don't care".
I was 20 and it was the first time I left behind my comfort and my "girly" habits..

We met lots of people (some were in a group of couchsurfers) and we had a wonderful holiday. I even touch a whale (and their skin is king of "jellyfishy" ahaha)

This memory is part of why I want to travel and never stop to do so.
