About Me
I was born and raised in the Philippines until my parents decided to sell away everything they owned for plane tickets and a chance for a better life. At age 11, I moved with my family to Canada and have been lucky enough to call two very different countries home.
Because of this, I've always had the feeling of living two completely separate lifetimes, and since then I have been very interested in seeing more of the world, and meeting people with their own stories.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've always felt that the most important part of travel is the people you meet and friends you make on the way. Yes, the sights are almost always beautiful and I love trying out new food, but at the end of the day, without someone there to share all of that with, there isn't really anything different than just staying at home and strolling around there.
I heard about couchsurfing from a number of friends who have done it before, and the consensus seems to be that it is something they would do over and over again given the chance. I'd love to be able to say the same, and to meet locals that make traveling as educational and as fulfilling as it can be.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I guess the future still holds all the more amazing things to be done, but I feel that the decision for me to go to a university hours away from home, and then do a semester three thousand miles away across Canada might count as one.
They were both the kind of experience where I would alternate between being very excited and very nervous and nauseated everyday until I finally just did it.
I love change and having diversity in my life, and I find that the experiences I enjoy the most are the ones that initially make me feel unsettled and unsure. Going to school in such foreign places to me gave me friends I would never have met otherwise, and unforgettable adventures I love to reminisce about.
