About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a open-minded, friendly and talktive person who fall in love with traveling. I majored in Economics when I was in college and now I'm pursuing a master degree in Beijing. I love outdoor activities such as hiking, trekking, picnic(?) and any other adventure. I also like kinds of exercise such as badminton (I learn it for 8 years) , table tennis, swimming, jogging, and even yoga! I'm just a person who cannot sit in the office! However, I do have some quiet time, I like reading, writing, watching sitcoms. I used to be a tour guide for a short time because I wanted to push myself to know my hometown's culture better. And I hope I could share what I study with all of you. I came from Taiwan, a beautiful island located in the centre of Japan, Philippines, and China. We do remain the best Chinese culture and traditions. Look forward to seeing you all in Taiwan some day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2014, I went to China for exchange student for half a year. And that's my very first journey. At first, I went to a hostel with my friends and I met a lot of interesting and encouraging people there. Some of them were on the way from Yunnan to Tibet on foot, Some of them were in the middle of the last journey before work. Some of them gave up their accommodation for the hostel during their business trip. That really inspired me. From then on, I tried to travel solo and meet as many local people as I can. Although I got in trouble sometimes, they still are my unforgettable and remarkable memories which I would keep in my mind forever. At the end of that semester, I made up my mind to try Couchsurfing which I've longed and searched for a whole month. I used China's Couchsurfing website and got my all accommodations for a month with it. (That's why I didn't have any record on this website, lol) With Couchsurfing, I met truly local people instead of tourist as I was. And that do help to know their history, value, and everything related to them better. The most important point, I can get their recommendation list for local food! How wonderful Couchsurfing can bring! I believe I will stick to it for a really long time, Hooray!

Interests

Too many to count. I am willing to try anything. But most of them are related to exercise. If you are any kinds of sports lover, I will be happy to go jogging, playing badminton, or any sports and outdoor activities with you! On the other side, I love live music, dance, guitar, and arts as well. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

My range of music is wild. I love pop songs such as Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, Adele and so on. I do love indie bands in Taiwan as well. Here's a playlist I collected for all of my friends to knock on the door of Chinese songs: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoFnfCzuqOdaUSIHVrRPyOIx9L1QYkt72

As for sitcoms, I love Big Bang Theory, Grey's Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, Good Wife, etc.

I love Travel Literature so much that I want to be a traveling writer! My favorite is Sahara story by Sanmao (A Taiwanese Novelist) and A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson.

I like those movies with quick speaking speed, like Social Network, Molly's game and so on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I always like unique places. Once I went to Yunnan province in China, there's a village named Yu-Bong which is no vehicle way to get in but on foot. We spent 7 hours to climb up and down to get in. And there are there unique attractions which is saint blessing road for local people. I went to those place which gave me a really hard time with trekking for 40 km mountain unbeaten trails for 3 days in a row. I promise I won't go there next time because It's exhausting and dangerous to go there with sneakers (totally crazy) in November! However, it's totally worth it, the vibes there is really fresh, clean and inspiring. I felt I can achieve anything I would like to after this journey.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you come to Taiwan, I would like to introduce some traditional and local food to you. And I also want to share some local story with you to tell you why Taiwan is so special. It's definitely would be interesting to hear your feedback. On the other side, I am a foodie so I will share A LOT street food in Taiwan which is exactly our best! If I visit your countries or place, I can also cook Chinese dumplings with you.
