Overview
About Me
I was born in Tampa Bay, Florida and raised in Athens, Greece. I lived in Athens till I was 19 years of age and now live in Tampa Bay, Florida. I came to the United States to obtain an education, and now that I have successfully obtained one I aspire to travel around Europe to immerse myself into some of the world's most historic cultures and cities, meet the people who bring these cities to life, and experience first-handed their way of life (and also be a tourist). You're never too old to learn about the world! I try to stay physical active and follow/ play a number of different sports, such as futbol, cycling, basketball, spear fishing, and more. I love the outdoors and water! I was raised, both in Greece and Florida, just a few kilometers away from the coast. Additional hobbies of mine include hiking, boating, rock climbing, swimming, and racing (motorcycles and cars).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In all honesty, I am new to the Couchsurfing experience. I am extremely outgoing and gain energy just by being surrounded by people. I don't exactly know how that happens, but I've noticed it from a very young age. I am energetic, easy to get along with, and I like to believe I am rather open-minded. I always look forward to new experiences, challenges, and opportunities to grow and help other grow if given the opportunity. Currently, having recently graduated from Florida State University, I want to take the time to travel. I have always wanted to travel the world, and I think this is my prime opportunity to do so, Specifically, the reason for which I am trying out Couchsurfing is because I am very limited on funds (I spent most of my money trying to educate myself) and also because I look forward to immersing myself into cultures I have never experienced before. I value good, substantial conversations and I would like to believe, for the most part, that is very prominent with the Couchsurfing experience.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite type of music is rock, hard rock, alternative rock, metal and heavy metal. I generally can listen to anything, though. I also enjoy techno, EDM, and house.
I love reading and learning as much as possible about self-improvement. Alan Watts is someone I particularly look up to and listen to in podcasts regarding self-help, etc.
My favorite book is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill.
Some of my favorite movies include Gladiator and the Batman movies (all three movies directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale). I thoroughly enjoy comedies, action, thrillers and suspense, and, on occasion, romance and/ or scary movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my accomplishments I am most proud of involves my move from Greece to the United States. I was just 19 years of age and left my family and friends behind to return to a country I knew nothing of and had no one in. I came here to the U.S. to immerse myself into a new culture and obtain an education, whilst also learning and enhancing my English. Along the way, I got to learn more about myself, what lifestyle I like to live by and what works for me. Obviously, I've had many ups and downs while away from family and childhood friends, but many of the good friends and families I've met and lived with here can easily be refereed to as my second family.
I have now been here seven years and visit my family and loved ones back in Athens, Greece every other year. I only visit every other year because I like to take the time to visit and/ or plan vacation trips with the friends and families I've met throughout the past years I owe them much of the credit for who I am today because they each have played a unique role in my maturing here in the U.S.
What I Can Share with Hosts
What I believe I can share with hosts is a little part of Greek and American culture. I like to think of myself as a hybrid of the two. I enjoy and value human interactions. It brings out the best side of me and inspires me to learn as much as possible about others and reciprocate the hospitality with kindness, respect, and maybe even a friendship that could last a lifetime.
