ABOUT ME

Travelling and meeting new cultures, languages and people has always fascinated me. I think other languages are great because they allow you to understand so much about other cultures and their people. However, speaking to someone in a language both understand is great - on the other hand, languages can pose huge barriers also if one does not understand the other one. Therefore, to help people understand one another and bring them together, I've wanted to become an interpreter and translator for a long time. A semester ago, I started studying Translation at the University of Leipzig. It'd be awesome to work for the EU, the UN or an NGO one day. Or to teach languages in different places all over the planet.
I think if more people understood more languages and cultures of the world, it would be a better place.
I worked and taught German at a primary school in England and at a language school in the US and worked with kids in a theater group in Germany. Theater is another thing I really like. I've been involved in UK-German youth relations for a few years. Anyway, after High School I decided I couldn't focus on languages all the time, looked for the complete opposite - and worked in the operating theaters of a hospital where I assisted nurses and surgeons. It changed my view of life and I learned a lot. However, I figured languages were still really my thing.
I'm interested in many different things and know there're many more things to come across!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe there's (almost) no problem that cannot be solved.
And in everyone's power to make the world better.
I love to bring people together, improve communication and help fight hate, prejudices and ignorance.
Also, it's my firm belief that whatever you give others you'll get back some day.
