About Me

CURRENT MISSION

live life. enjoy every moment. meet different people. have fun. share good moments.

ABOUT ME

I'm an English teacher who lives in Donostia. As I don't have a permanent job yet, my free time and economic situation can vary.
Anyway, as soon as I save enough money I try to travel somewhere. I've not traveled out of Europe yet, but I'm ok with that. I think there are PLENTY of things, people, places, cultures... you can see close to your place, you don't have to travel far away for that. Anyway, I'll travel around the world too, when I have the chance.
What do I like doing here in my place?
well, I like drawing. I draw since I can use my fingers. It's just a hobby, for me it's like writting a diary. Olentzero (the basque Santa Claus) brought me last christmas a Blues Harp, which it turned out to be a wonderful toy. I'm not good at all playing it, but its amazing how time flies, while trying to play it.
I have amazing friends here, since childhood, and we go for a drink everytime we can. Drink, play pool, drink, look at girls and talk about sex, say stupid and absurd things ALL THE TIME, from time to time talk about politics and how we would safe the world from capitalism, corrupt politicians or pop music bands, then finish the pint and come back to the stupid things.
what else? I'm a normal guy who tries to enjoy his life as much as posible.

PHILOSOPHY

we live once, can't be shy if we want something because we may have a single opportunity. I try to enjoy life in every second, so when death comes to me I'm glad of everything I did in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in an apartment with two friends who are not really interested with couchsurfing... but every now and then, I'm homealone, so I could host somebody...

Anyway, I think meeting people is very interesting, so, if I'm free I'll gladly show you the city and some bars. I think one should try to enjoy every person (s)he meets.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've not done this many times, but those times I've host someone, or been a guest of someones else, it's been a great experience.

I've met very nice people and I keep in touch with some of them.
so what can I say? I want to keep on couchsurfing!

Music, Movies, and Books

well I spend a lot of time watching movies. I think that movies can be like books. one can learn a lot from them. a movie can make you think as a book does. I also think that I could not choose a favourite movie, because depending on who I am with, the situation or the mood, I'd choose a different one. Anyway, these are some movies I enjoy a lot: any Quentin Tarantino, Cashback, V for Vendetta, Into the Wild, Dead Poets Society, The Emperor's New Grooves, Darjeering Limited, Oh Brother, Old Boy, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...

The same happens with music. depending on the mood, what I have just done or I'm just doing, depending on the weather, if I'm drunk or stoned I'll listen to different music. as it isvery wisely explained in a The Cat Empire song, I listen "not music I'm told to like, but the songs that make me dance along" so, bands such as these ones make me dance along, or feel dreamer or relaxed...The Cat Empire, Bob Marley, Primal Scream, The xx, Death Cab for Cutie, Fleet Foxes, J.J. Cale, Morcheeba, Zero 7, Rob Dougan, The J. Geils Band, God Is An Astronaut, Blues, Jazz, Warpaint, Mumford & Sons, Glass Animals, Pendulum, Prodigy, Rebelution, Irish music...

about books. I enjoyed very much the biography of Howard Marks, better known as Mr Nice. It's the FUNNIEST book I've ever read in my whole life. I read Thoreau's "Civil desobedience" and "Life without principle" and a bit later, I read Erich Fromm's "The Art of Loving" I found them really interesting, I was very touched with their point of view about life and they made me grow and know myself better... I also enjoyed very much "On the Road" and "The Dharma Bums" of Jack Kerouac and "Dans les forêts de Sibérie" of Sylvain Tesson. More Fromm and Kerouac, and Bukowski's and Boris Vian's books are on my list for the future readings...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well I was in Berlin with a friend we just arrived from Amsterdam. we had no couch and it was 8 at night. we went to a hostel computer and sent about 20 different couchrequests. when we were about to pay for a night in the hostel, we got an answer. some guy was going to host us. He gave me his phone, and adress.
we took the tube and called him. after a "hello" he directly asked "do you smoke?". I said "well ocassionally, but no worries, we aint smoking in your house if you don't want". he replied "no it's fine, I've got plenty of weed". we had been just lucky to meet this guy.
after a couple of joints and more beers he asked if we were tired. we actually were. but before I could give him any answer he continued talking. "we are going to a private party. my flatmate is playing, he's a DJ. people is going to pay 15€, but if you come with us we'll be able to do something with the price...". what could we say?
an hour later, and after paying simbolically 2€ we were inside a bar, which we would never had found with any guide.
so, only 3 hours in Berlin. and when we thought we were going to pay for a night and go to bed, we suddenly were smoking several joints, getting drunk at a private festival with some concerts and meeting some very nice German people.
best parties are the ones you don't plan to do.
we spent with the DJ and the crazy but very wise host 3 days. when we left the DJ gave us some of his own music. it was the best present he could have given to us.
next day we went to Poland and somebody stole our jackets. the Ipods were on the pockets. and the Dj's music was on our Ipods. shit happens.
anyways, beer is pretty cheap in Poland.
