I am a Canadian studying at an international school in the Netherlands. I have lived previously in France and Taiwan and have a passion for learning about different cultures.
Along with traveling and learning languages, I also enjoy writing music and poetry, amateur photography and skateboarding.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to get to know Europe and see as much of the continent while I have a chance to live here, but still on a budget! It's also interesting to get to know the locals to truly understand a place.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is mostly indie and alternative rock, with the occasional folk album or jazzy hit. Right now the two songs I'm listening to on repeat are 'Walking on the Moon' covered by Roseaux, and 'Late July' by Shakey Graves.

My favourite movie of all time is Spirited Away, a Hayao Miyazaki film that I remember watching with my cousins all throughout my childhood, that I still enjoy to watch every once in awhile this day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in a Buddhist temple for a week on the east coast of Taiwan, waking every morning at 5:30am to chant in an open room on a cliff facing the sea. We spent each morning learning the basics of the religion in mandarin, each afternoon in meditation of some shape or form. We ended the week by walking barefoot up the mountain prostrating after ever seventh step, repeating a chant.
