Overview
About Me
I am a student from Russia (St. Petersburg), currently studying in NY. I love to walk a lot in new cities, study neighborhood by neighborhood, and go to Art museums and old movie theatres. I am a pretty good cook and a neat person. I believe in communication as the most effective tool for resolving conflicts and making everyone's experience unforgettable! I enjoy long walks and other activities during the day to see the city in its brightest colors. Coffee lover! Always appreciate a specialty coffeehouse.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think it's a great way to share culture, which is one of my goals for this year in the US. It is also a great way to get a perspective into the daily lives of Americans all over the country, which I want to discover as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of movies - old art house, independent films, marvel action films, classic Hollywood of the 30s-50s, romcoms, and European avant-garde. My faves are La La Land and Baby Driver. Same with music - pop, punk, classic oldies, and Russian artists. With books, I've been into non-fiction (Olivia Laing) and essays lately.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This fall I volunteered at Austin Film Festival and attended a great panel of Pixar ambassadors - producers, and scriptwriters.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am passionate about film, so I sometimes digress and give small film history "lectures", please bear with me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I cook you some of the typical meals that I miss from Russia and a good cup of coffee, make a few comments on a movie we might watch together, tell you what I enjoyed about staying in your city - there are things you don't notice until somebody from "outside" mentions them!
