About Me

CURRENT MISSION

What to do next

ABOUT ME

I enjoy being a foreigner everywhere and having the privillege to be curious and ask questions about things people take for granted. I also like observing details in cultures, searching for non valid explanations and describe them poetically and I particularly love to travel to the home countries of the people that I know and love and observe connections between people and places. Being around people is perfectly enjoyable but usually I feel more comfortable as a listener...and lately I started discovering the joy and the value of solitude.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly surf and appreciate. I hosted some people in Ljubljana though. And can't wait to rent my own room in Rome and start hosting again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted some people in Ljubljana and surfed everywhere where I travelled. Hospitality has many form and faces, but you always find it.

Interests

Well, I studied psychology but not very deeply. I did read and like some psychoanalysis and theoretical critics of psychology. I would always appreciate whatever's humanistic: philosophy, antropology, sociology. Then literature, poetry, narrative journalism, folk music, classical music, guitar and piano (I don't really play but I appreciate those who do), singing and singing choirs. Libraries and "human libraries." Linguistics, listening new languages, trying to speak. The Balkans! Learning Russian, Italian and hopefully some other language in the future. Hithhiking and listening people's stories.
Understanding the meaning of autonomy, social model of disability, working with deprivileged and marginalized groups and exploring topics such as integration, inclusion, culture and interculturalism.

Music, Movies, and Books

Changeable and chaotic.

But...here it is:
Hesse, Andric, Selimovic, Bulgakov, Steinbeck, Calvino, Kafka, Freud, Saramago, Vigotski, Tolstoj, Baudelaire and some modern slovenian poetry and novels...Leonard Cohen, Regina Spektor, Tom Waits, folk and etno music (sevdah!), classical music...mostly everything that is eiher sad and melancholic or folk. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiking in The Balkans always amazes me, but it has little to do with me and lots with the hospitality of the people.

Sharing life with amazing people during my volunteering years in Italy and changing lots of my perspectives and values.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm definately more curious then knowledgable. Good thing that's not a job-interview and I don't have to feel bad about it :).

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom
