About Me

CURRENT MISSION

taking it easy - and hopefully making a move to a large city (Singapore, Hamburg, who knows???), looking to really get into the Food Technology field - working in a laboratory and traveling as well!

ABOUT ME

I'm really not good at this "tell us something interesting about you" stuff. I've never really enjoyed describing my personality for a really simple reason. I just don't know what to say, except for few most used, cliché words that I'm actually gonna use later, so I apologize in advance but it's the best I can do :). Honestly every time I try to come up with something interesting and witty I end up staring at wall, my mind going completely blank... I call this sudden switch off "going Homer Simpson". If this section was about my dog I'd be able to bore everyone to death with exhausting, unnecessary novel-lenght description of him, but when it comes to me, I just don't know what to say :). And asking friends for opinion feels kinda like cheating, so I guess I could at least try.
So here's brief info of me:

I'd say I'm easy-going friendly person, open-minded, fun loving, adventurous, trying not to take myself too seriously. Sometimes (mostly in the beginning of my stay) I can look a bit shy, so I might leave more of the talking to a friend I'm travelling with while I more listen and observe, but I eventually open up more :). I like meeting new people, getting to know about their culture, jobs, hobbies, little things in their life they enjoy... well I just like travelling and discovering new things in general. Sometimes I can also be quite lazy, but in a way that's enjoyable, like sitting on a bench in park on a nice sunny day, observing my surroundings and people passing by (I'm sure old people or stalkers would approve :) ). Sometimes I can be little bit indecisive, but that's most of the times related to more personal stuff. When I'm out travelling I'm all for exploring and having fun or just chilling leisurely.

PHILOSOPHY

This might sound cheesy but for me it's finding balance in life. While it's necessary to work hard to accomplish or achieve something, one should still take time to relax, enjoy and appreciate things around us that are sometimes nowadays taken for granted.
In other words, you live only once, so don't waste this opportunity but also take it easy :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm still kinda new to couchsurfing community so right now it's me visiting new places and being hosted by other amazing couchsurfers, but after I finish university and move out from our tiny students appartement and also after I gain more couchsurfing experience I'd like to host other people as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As mentioned above I did couchsurfing only few times, but all the experiences were positive.

Interests

Music, books, movies, juggling, slack-lining, my dog, outdoor activities... I'm more of a spring-summer type of person, I like to spend my free time outside when the weather is nice and sunny. During fall and winter when it's cold, here where I live I tend to stay inside where it's warm and cozy. That means I'm either at home or I hang out with friends, go to pubs, caffés or teahouses. While I enjoy some winter sports, for example snowboarding, don't expect me to go for a walk when it's - 10°C, windy and it's either raining or snowing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't prefer any specific music or movie genre, if it's good then I like it.
Some of my favorite movies would be Tarantino's work, Amadeus, Fly over cuckoo's nest. Letters from Iwo Jima...

Books, the greatest invention of humankind. I've loved them since I can remember. I somehow learnt how to read before going to school and I still remember how I couldn't wait to start attending elementary school so I could perfect my reading skills. I was such a bookworm as a kid, I read almost every book available either at library or at home, even if I didn't fully enjoy them, because I had this rule that if I started any book I had to finish it :), thus there were only few really boring ones that I dropped before finishing them. I also made lists of books I had read but I kept loosing them, so I eventually gave up.
I've read so many that I can't pick a favorite one and again i don't prefer any specific genre, but from the recent ones I've read I really enjoyed Games of Thrones series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During the summer of 2012 I went to a lovely Stromboli island with friends. We took a ferry from Naples to get there. It took at least 8 hrs to get there so the ship travelled overnight and since it was nice weather we camped outside on a prow of the ship. We just lay there in our sleeping bags, watched the starry sky for hours, listened to the sea and it felt truly magical. For me it was one of the most intense and amazing thing I've ever experienced.
On our way back the weather got already colder. We slept outside again but it was freakin chilly and windy for my thin sleeping bag and I spent the night buried inside it but i was still freezing, so the magic kinda got lost :) .
