About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To do whatever I want to or have to, but first of all - to enjoy it.

ABOUT ME

I´m from Slovakia and I have studied Norwegian in Czech republic - and I think this says pretty much a lot about me. I love new countries, new languages, new places, new people, new experiences. I'd lived in Norway and recently moved back to my home-country. Here, I teach literature and translate books from Norwegian, Swedish and Danish.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short to waste it; so do whatever you want to do, and do always remember to enjoy it as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While I lived in Norway, couchsurfers were a huge part of my life - both meeting new people via couchsurfing or meetings with more experienced couchsurfers. I miss this here in Slovakia, and would be more than happy if I could meet new people from around the world also in here. And couchsurfing is the best possible way to do so I can think of.
However, my flat in Bratislava is quite small and often occupied, but we can always at least go out, get a good Slovakian food or drink together.
I do also live in Banovce nad Bebravou, small town close to really nice bigger Trencin, and there is possibility to stay at our place there as well, if you want to see more of Slovakia than just the capital.

Interests

I love reading, books and everything about literature. I work as a translator and I translate good Scandinavian stories into Slovak language so people in Slovakia can enjoy them as well.
I love good food, preparing food and trying new kinds of food. I think that good food can make the world a much better place.
I´m a cultural kind of person, I enjoy good music, movies, theater, concerts, galleries and pretty much everything what in some way can delight my spirit.
But I do love being active as well, love skiing, going on trips, working in the garden and other outdoor activities.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh, a specially with books it would be really really really loooooong list, so please, if you are just a little bit interested in what I like to read, just ask me, it would be my pleasure to talk about books.
But I can honestly say my favorite authors are: Alessandro Baricco, Roald Dahl, J. S. Foer, Lars Saabye Christensen, Nicole Krauss, Milan Kundera, Haruki Murakami, Amélie Nothomb, Chuck Palahniuk, Rudolf Sloboda, Zadie Smith, Boris Vian (and much, much more).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Almost every day left me awestruck, so it´s pretty hard to pick only two or three things. I love Scandinavian countries and it´s so much amazing you can see there that it´s hard to not mention it all. But OK, I can try to mention at least one experience. It´s Kjeragbolte in Norway - you have to find some pictures of this amazing place and even better visit it. It was probably the most adrenaline experience in my whole life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make goulash, one of my favorite foods.
I can learn whatever you find interesting, I´m open-minded and looking forward to almost anything.
