Overview
About Me
I’m a traveling nanny and English teacher. I’ve lived abroad for 6 years and counting. A fully-stocked kitchen and the beach are my happy places. In my free time, I enjoy relaxing by working out, cooking, hiking, reading, listening to music, or watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures. I want to exchange travel stories with you, as well as try to understand your worldview and perspective of life. I enjoy the hostel life, but I’m also trying Couchsurfing to meet more people.
P.s. Couchsurfing is not Tinder, and I have no interest in hooking up with any of my hosts. Hence, I see no reason to give out my Instagram username or WhatsApp number unless we’ve messaged a few times on Couchsurfing, and I’ve decided I’m comfortable with surfing with you. I will always put my safety first. :) If you’ve read till this far, please put “mozzarella” in your message. I do not reply to any messages that does not have this password.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy pop and rock music - the more danceable the music is, the better! I do enjoy mostly mainstream music, and I’ve gone to concerts by Coldplay and Ed Sheeran. I hope to go to a Taylor Swift concert soon!
Action and rom-com movies - I avoid movies that are sad.
Classic and historical “fiction” books - my undergraduate college degree was in English Literature, and I was (am) nerdy enough to present a paper I wrote about Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe at an international conference. For classic books, I especially enjoy the post-colonialism genre, and for historical “fiction” books, I particularly like second-generation immigrant-based stories.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sold my car and all my belongings in the US, and now live out of two suitcases
Visited 25 countries before age 25 - yes, Vatican City and San Marino count 😂
Graduated university debt-free - if you’re American, you’ll understand what a big deal this is
Wikipedia Ambassador when I was a teenager and had my 5 seconds of fame moment
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m a native English speaker/teacher and can help you with the language. I would love to learn your language, and I hope we can have a wonderful sharing of travel and life experiences!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My travel experiences and stories, and I would be more than happy to cook Mexican fajitas for dinner. I have been a Workawayer since June 2018, and have lived with strangers-turned-friends in Beijing, Portsmouth, and Milano. I’m a pleasant, respectful, and clean guest, with an intrinsic curiosity about your life and culture.
