Overview
About Me
I was born in a smaller Slovenian town, close to Croatian border and Slovenian coast. I moved to the capital for my studies, I studied medicine in University of Ljubljana and later began my residency in University clinical center in Ljubljana.
Whenever I found time during my studies, I traveled. My friends always got mad at me because I didn't spend much time with them in Slovenia, but traveling is just something I couldn't bear not doing, when I was so curious about the world. I loved meeting new people around the world and hearing their stories. I still try to maintain this lifestyle, but since I started working in a hospital, I don't get that much time off. Nevertheless I am on the road often, since I have a boyfriend from Belgium and I travel back and forth every month or so. Whenever we manage to both get days off we like to explore the world together. If not with him, I sometimes convince my friends to join me (or the other way around), so we can later share some memories together and reminiscence.
In the beginning of my travellling-around years I decided to try Couchsurfing, even tho I haven't had many chances to use it in the end since I often stayed with friends etc. But the experiences I did have were splenid! So many different and wonderful people. Here's to more of them 🫶
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travelling beyond the tourist traps, getting a sense of culture I am in and getting to se how people live their daily lives in a specific country. I think Couchsurfing is one of the best ways to introduce yourself to their lifestyle.
Interests
I enjoy doing sports, in the past I used to dance (ballet and hip-hop) and horse ride. Now I mostly enjoy evening runs and morning hikes :) I am big fan of mountains and would pick a hiking day over most of the other activities any time. I also like climbing, I climb mostly indoor, occasionally outside.
When it comes to music, I enjoy all kinds, am open to different styles of it. I enjoy live concerts and festivals, love watching old movies, and i'm in love with spontaneous day-trips.
I also enjoy drawing and writing poetry, is mostly for myself, because it can get pretty personal at times.
What I Can Share with Hosts
People usually suggest cooking their national dishes here, but most of the Slovenian dishes are just way too complicated and take you couple of hours to cook, plus I don't particularly excel in cooking hehe. That's why I prefer sharing my opinions on interesting topics and having fun conversations that make us all relaxed and happy. I can also help with daily duties like going to the supermarket or do the dishes, I like helping! I can also bring you a typical Slovenian gift, a national drink called "Borovničke", if alcohol is something that you do. If not, there is plenty of other options for gifts ;) Overall I am very adaptable person, so I'll probably be up for activity you suggest.
