CURRENT MISSION
have a good time ALL the time!
ABOUT ME
Hello there to you who is reading this! I am originally from the east coast, but I have lived in Reno since 1990 (except for 4 years of that period). This is a wonderful area, and I get out to hike, bike, ski, hang out at the lake etc. whenever possible.
I have been to about 40 countries in my life, and I prefer the backpacking lifestyle of travel over the resort type of travel (not saying that I don't enjoy being pampered from time to time!). It's always fun to meet new and interesting people whether it's near my home, or halfway around the world.
I would describe myself as a rather mellow guy, and I like to push myself outside of my comfort zone. I have recently gotten involved in Improv theater, and although the prospect of getting in front of and performing for people has always been a little terrifying to me, I am really digging it!
If you are visiting for fun, and have time to explore, I would be happy to show you some of the cool spots around here (depending on my sometimes hectic schedule). There is a lot of fun to be had around here. I'm about 40 minutes away from Lake Tahoe (a little less to some of the ski resorts), about 30 minutes to the old timey Virginia City, about 50 minutes to Pyramid Lake, and near numerous trails to walk, hike, run, or ride your bike on.
I will be adding more shortly!
PHILOSOPHY
Have fun, don't worry so much, and go with the flow!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I stood in the middle of a semi-riot between Muslims and Christians on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. It was interesting, and it ended peacefully (since they were good people).
I spent 2 months in a small beach village in Costa Rica where I worked with a sea turtle conservation group. During that time, I also taught English to the adults in the village.
When I was 5 years old, my family and I went to Afghanistan, where I got to climb up the giant buddhas that were soon thereafter destroyed by the Russian invasion.
Teach, Learn, Share
When traveling abroad, I always carry a decoy wallet that is noticeable. I got pick pocketed once in Costa Rica, and all they got was a cheap 50 cent wallet. Joke's on them!
One thing that I am starting to learn is yoga, and I really want to get good at it.
I'm a good cook, but I would like to learn more healthy cooking options that taste really good!
