I recently quit my job in the financial sector in Puerto Rico to return to the mainland US and start the next phase in my life. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in El Salvador and have been to 29 countries. Due to my years in Latin America, I speak fluent Spanish and have grown to love the culture. My father was an airline pilot, so I've been traveling since I was a pup. Looking to meet new friends, network and see cities through the eyes of locals. Tourism is lame, traveling is awesome!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Historically, I've only stayed in hostels while traveling and more recently have tried Airbnb. A couple of my traveling friends have stated that Couchsurfing is the best way to travel and I want to find out why :)

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: the blues, hip hop and rock. Mostly everything, but appreciate music with old school roots.

Movies: anything Tarantino, Coen Brothers. Lesser known foreign film suggestion would be Sin Nombre.

Books: favorite author is Hunter Thompson. Also like reading authors from other countries

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a Peace Corps Volunteer, I lived with a Salvadoran family that had gang ties (obviously didn't know that beforehand, and got out when it became apparent). Had running water two hours a week and didn't have electricity for six months. One time lost 26 pounds in two weeks due to parasites...it was a shitty experience.

Can teach English or Spanish. Taught English as a second language once upon a time. I have a very good sense of direction and can help you find your way :)
