Interests

I have a deep love for the outdoors coupled with a love of meeting new people. I like activities that bring people together: cooking "family" meals, hiking, skiing, rock climbing, playing music, and shooting the breeze. Playing music is a part of me that finds its way into my everyday existence. I play the stand up bass professionally and can dabble with a wide variety of instruments like the ukulele, piano, guitar etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Packing a car full of my closest friends and taking off for month with nothing but a road map, some mountain unicycles, and a head full of ideas. The result was a trip saturated with rock climbing, swimming, camp fires, good friends, and stories. What I gained from this trip is too great to sum up in a paragraph rather it has defined who I am today and created friendships that will last as long as we do.
-Recently a friend of mine convinced me to wake up at 3 in the morning and climb to the top of a mountain overlooking the city and watch the sunrise. I have never been so happy to have neglected sleep in my whole life. What was most important in this experience is up to debate; whether it was the breathtaking nature of the early morning light dancing upon the waking city or whether it was the laughs that were cultivated I can never decide.
-Anytime I get to go home to spend good ol' family time with my sibling and parents is one of the simplest pleasures in life. There is truth in the saying there is no place like home. I'm not talking about the physical and material home but rather the home that finds itself in long lost hugs and home cooked pumpkin pie.
