Interests

Hobbies etc: wire wrapping gemstones, fermentation/brewing, skateboarding (mostly just watching it these days), biking and bike repair, hiking, camping, cooking, teaching other people things, listening to and playing music (bass guitar and trombone, also i like to sing), meeting new people, learning: about what unites us as humans, about what it means to be human, what it means to be alive; about anything related to nature, about engineering/physics/math/pretty much anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved from Louisville to San diego, and in the process quit my job, moved out of my house, sold or gave away most of my prized possessions, and left my family and friends. It was amazing how little difference there was between my previous "life" and my new simpler one, in which i owned very little and lived out of a car. In fact, it was more enjoyable in some ways.
