ABOUT ME

Academic? Jiujitsu nut. I've been living in China for 4 out of the last 5 years, but now I'm back in the states to get my PhD in linguistics at the University of Colorado Boulder, as well as my black belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu. I've got a long road ahead of me for both of those, but it's gonna happen!

PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Limited. I've met one CSer on the road, Slept on one CSer's couch and been to one CS event. Soo.... limited, but very positive. :)

Interests

I love talking about Brazilian Jiujitsu and Linguistics. Also a video game fan. Mostly adventure games. Shenmue, anyone?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a cat jump towards something, change direction mid-air without touching anything, and land on a table directly above where it jumped from. That shit was weird.

Teach, Learn, Share

When wrestling, be very conscious of where your elbows are. If you let them wing out away from your body, you compromise your strength and make yourself vulnerable. Keep them elbows tight.
