CURRENT MISSION

After a year in Switzerland that was made much happier through couchsurfers and new friends I want to keep travelling and meeting wonderful, open people.

ABOUT ME

I am a happy, energetic person who is excited about the coming couple of years living in London, after a year in Switzerland, and I want to make the most of it. I love my job as an Nanny and am lucky enough to be with a lovely family, but I am looking for people who can have a laugh and fancy a coffee and a chat at some point around London. Whenever I can find the time I am traveling and exploring different places so it would be wonderful to meet with people who can point me in the right direction on my future travels. I am pretty easy to get along with and never like to waste an opportunity.

As long as I can laugh with someone then life is going ok. Travelling is something I am continually doing (surprising, no!?), but a new country is most interesting when seen with the people who know it best.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am just getting into the swing of CS. So far I have met a few amazing people through CS parties and staying in Milan and I will always make time for people wanting a coffee and a chat in or around London. I am from the Scottish borders originally so, despite being English, I am still a tourist in London.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have attended meetings, met people for adventures and laughs but am hoping to start my CS travelling adventures now I am a little more settled in my new home and job.

Interessen

I love sharing food and gin with new and interesting people. I work pretty hard as I want to make a success of my future working with children, but whenever I get spare time I enjoy socializing and going on mini trips. I always try to make people smile and find that seeing places through other people's experiences is the best way to travel.
I am currently forcing myself to be a runner, but my more natural interests are things like live music, being out of my comfort zone culturally and just having a bloody good chat.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I am always reading but get swept away by genres. I haven't really got a stand out favourite and my bookshelf is as muddled as my music collection. I am a person who gets completely sucked into the screen, so any movie (except horror) is good to me. love a bit of wes anderson though.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I hitch-hiked from Manchester, UK to Marrakesh, Morocco to raise money for charity. It was an tiring, exciting, unforgettable experience that relied completely on the kindness of strangers. My travelling around China forced me to change opinions I didn't even know I had and I am found that au pair work threw up some surprisingly interesting moments. Now I am a nanny, I am often lost for words in this job, and for such a chatty person that is no small thing.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

People who want to share their time and space with me immediately achieve my appreciation and respect. The CS community is a reminder in my life to keep moving and meeting and talking and seeing and thinking. People who have traveled lots or just taken a step they personally found brave are the people I enjoy spending hours with.
