About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To never stop 'xplorin

ABOUT ME

Currently living in Anchorage, Alaska, and always cooking up the next adventure.

I'm an open-minded guy who grew up on the East Coast, came to Alaska one summer, and haven't left yet. I studied international relations, so I'm always down to talk policy. Sometimes vegetarian. A bit social media obsessed, but I know how to unplug. Beer lover.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that everyone has a destiny, but I also like to believe that it can be altered. I want to squeeze every possible ounce of experience out of my own fate, and I don't want to miss any opportunities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Love to learn and teach languages. Always down for a coffee, a beer, or these days some çay (Turkish tea).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed in Estonia, Finland, Prague, and Toronto. Tentsurfed in Rocky Point and then again in Tijuana. Hosted in DC and Phoenix. And I have been active in some of my local chapters (Philly, Karlsruhe, DC).

Interests

Skiing the backcountry. Hiking the Front Range. Climbing. Biking. Ultimate Frisbee. Kayaking. Running. Canoeing. Reading. Long skype conversations with people across the world. Languages. Learning.

Music, Movies, and Books

Things from Michener, Salinger, Chekhov, Beckett

Lifetime Bonnaroovian. Lots of EDM right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Inauguration of Barack Obama. Standing for 6 hours with 2 million people was incredible, and it gave me so much hope for the future of the US!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've lived in Germany and can speak German. Depending on when you ask me, I might be trying to brush up my Turkish, Swedish, Spanish, or Dutch. I love learning languages from other people and teaching them my own! I can also make a pretty rockin hemp bracelet.

Countries I’ve Visited

Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Mexico, Sweden, Turkey, United States, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In
