HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A dear friend from NYC stayed with me at my home in Los Angeles. He was on tour with his band and had all sorts of stories about the people he had stayed with along the way. He told me about the CouchSurfing website. I immediately was drawn to it, because it was something I had been doing most of my life. I often would simply go to random cities (both in and out of the US) and make friends, sometimes staying for weeks (only when asked). Now there is an organized community to help make sure that I didn't sleep in the streets :)
