About Me

ABOUT ME

I graduated from George Washington University with an MPH in epidemiology and MSHS in physician assistant studies and have since completed a surgical residency program at Johns Hopkins. For the past 4 years, my focus has been all things healthcare and I am ready to shift my perspective back outwards to the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Challenge yourself often and enjoy yourself along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to come to know the world through other people and cultures. People are fascinating and it's impossible to know what someone else is thinking without getting to know them and listening. I find that I understand myself better when I can see my own story mirrored in others. Plus I'm an extrovert and recharge when I'm with other people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Audible has made it so easy to tackle my book list. I've been on a big LGBTQ+ literature kick trying to find works that speak to me. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I love anything by Octavia Butler.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam back from Alcatraz to San Francisco and then ran 7 miles up over the Golden Gate and back.

Teach, Learn, Share

Growing up, my father inspired a strong passion for cooking in me. I remember he once bought me two dozen eggs so I could practice flipping them without a spatula. If I surf with you, I'd be happy to whip something up suited to your tastes. I worked in a French restaurant and even as a cheese maker for a year in Hillsborough, NC. When I return to the states, mastering sourdough and other breads will be my next goal. How great will my dinner parties be with homemade cheese and bread!?
