About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Let this expat-prepper RPG fanatic travel the world with his supportive girlfriend, have fun memories and adventures, create multiple animation franchises and software products that makes life a lot easier for everyone around us.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Evan Wilder.

I am an expat-prepper who is raised on RPGs. Because of this, I went out to hitchhike to see what life is like outside of the Detroit. Needless to say, it was quite wonderful and majestic. One time, I had to attempted to ride my bike from Detroit to Virginia. Along the way, I had to take certain routes in Ohio on a supposed bike trail where on one side, I rode by trees, and on other side, I was side-by-side by farmland. Along that bike trail, I saw a deer hop out from the forestry and ran across the farmland. In a few words, that was quite majestic.

Every time after I traveled, I found myself back in Detroit. Every time except this time, I found myself wondering why did I come back to Detroit. This time is different because I am partnered up with a girlfriend of almost two years who is traveling alongside with me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hi, I'm Evan Wilder and that beautiful woman in the picture with me is the "love of my life". My girlfriend and I are working currently to get our finances in order so we can travel throughout the world together. So far, this is done by freelancing on her end and me creating online businesses on mine. Throughout the way, we experience new challenges that has us growing into the persons who are able to handle bigger challenges..

Our bigger goals in life is that I am creating a online television network that actually supplies the world with relatable characters, memorable moments, professional-quality production, and gripping stories. My girlfriend, on the other hand, is looking to better her ability to cure people of ailments through holistic means. She's on her way because her treatments have successfully worked with me. :)

Interests

There were a lot of things that grabbed my attention - so much so that I could have been diagonsed with ADHD. So I had to cut down on what could grab my attention and what could thrown to the wayside.

The few factors that remained as a part of my interests falls in line here:

The Economy and Trends (Studying the trends and using those trends to predict the future is a personal liking of mine. This also enables me to create better stories for the shows that I am writing.)
The Internet (Like all Millennials, I tend to look at the Internet as both a tool and a second home.)
Survivalist Lifestyle (Being able to fend, feed, and protect for yourself and others is strongly and an advisable way to staying alive.)
RPGs (Everyone older than 35 assumes that I am talking about 'rocket-propelled grenades'. No, no, I'm talking about RPGs (role-playing game) where you play as a character who travels around the world (usually with a story involved) and sees new sites. Ironically, this is my favorite genre of video games.)
Online TV Comedies (Online Indie Content) (One could say that I am heavily involved with online content. While traditional content does tend to have a higher production quality than most indie shows out there; when you see an independent online show done completely right, that inspires you to jump in to create your show and hopefully, you can collaborate with the online content creators.)
Travel (If I wasn't into travel, then I shouldn't be on Couchsurfer.)
Music (When I was five years old, I would hum the songs that my dad would play on his radio. To this day, I still hum. The good news is that I bring you musical joy whenever I'm around a piano or a guitar.)
My Girlfriend (She's a wonderful lass. I can honestly say that she's unlike anyone that I have ever met before in my life. No, seriously, I can say that.)
Animation (Cartoons can do things that humans can't or won't because it's too friggin' expensive. With animation, you can control the settings, the look, the feel, and the show can be done at any ol' time - so it meets deadline. To me, animation can do things rather simply than opposed to its live-action counterpart.)

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite media consumption currently right now are podcasts (Internet radio shows). So much so, that I am starting several and I am developing a online business that specializes in that media form.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There is this one amazing moment of my life that I couldn't explain for the life of me. When I was twelve, a lamp caught on fire and almost fell on me. I braced myself for impact and felt something hit me. When I put my arms down (to protect myself from the fire), the lamp was there on the table and it wasn't on fire. These are one of those "What the" moments that I have a very hard time explaining...and I'm pretty logical person!

Right now, the next 4 - 8 years are going to be ridiculously busy for me. We (because I work with an online animation conglomerate) will be raising 15 crowdfunded animation shows into their own franchises. At the same time, my girlfriend and I are heading out to travel to the world all while learning real-world skills such as farming and agriculture. In fact, we'll be setting up our new residence elsewhere outside in the United States. We have a lot of ground to cover. It's going to be an interesting ride.

Teach, Learn, Share

Recently, I just made my first sale through an online business, FlowlyAudio. This is incredibly epic for me because I have been studying business both by mentors whose voices on recordings travel with me everywhere and through harsh experience of actually doing it. While I explain everything I know about content marketing, internationalization, and even in investing into precious metals, the most lessons transcend above business.

1.) Follow your instincts:
All my life, I have allowed myself to be silent to please others and that has never worked out - not once. When I decided to travel across the country with my girlfriend, it was the best decision that I could have made. When I created FlowlyAudio and came upon the realization that someone would give me $300 for something that not many people in my life would believe that it (the business) could make a dime, it opened a whole new world for me. Too often, we may find ourselves standing up for what we believe and sometimes, that's all we have.

2.) Persevere through life:
Too often, we quit. (Maybe you're someone who perseveres through the toughest pain.) Me, I love to create things, hated finished them. Today, I looked back on my past ideas I had. They're not bad ideas but they didn't make a dime because I decided to quit. I'm not one who prefers to quit (anymore). Through my ability to remain active in my goals, I was able to budget my own finances, save my romantic relationships, and even begin to build an online location-independent business that will grow beyond me. Life is about creating, finishing, and persevering through obstacles.

3.) Be social
One of the biggest reasons that I am here on Couchsurfing is because I want to meet new people through Couchsurfing. I love to travel around a lot and I love to meet new people in every chance I get. Through Couchsurfing, it's not about just staying at someone's house (that's why we have Airbnb.) Instead, I chose Couchsurfing simply because I wanted to be able to meet new friends and not become stagnant in being friendly with other people.

There are many things that I have learned but those will have to come up in conversations.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hi,

I'm Evan Wilder and I'm glad to have met you. First off, I want to say that I am developing my own business online so I have my own stream of income. Secondly, if you hate to laugh then you don't want me around because I will have you laughing. Thirdly, in any way, I am clean and neat. I don't smoke or drink alcohol. I also don't have kids but then again, I'm 22 so that's to be expected. More importantly, it's important that we're able to learn about each other and become lifelong friends when things work out for the better.
