About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Every day in life has new experiences on offer!

ABOUT ME

I'm in love with life, as there's always so much to experience and discover! I'm a very curious type of person, eager to learn from and about other people and their culture. I'm easily seduced by interesting stories. That's why I love reading books, going to the theatre and watching films.

What makes me most happy in life is the sunshine, preferably enjoying it in a hammock. Furthermore I like traveling, cooking, hanging around with friends, visiting bars (especially summer terraces), swimming, biking around, attending dance performances, playing board games (and winning), getting impressed by art...

PHILOSOPHY

Don't worry, be happy

In every life we have some trouble
But when you worry you make it double

Don't worry, be happy

Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed

Don't worry, be happy

...oOoooOoOoOoOoooOo...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host travelers and can show them around. When I travel myself, I try to couchsurf whenever possible. Recently I started going to events where the local CS people in Antwerp meet. Pretty nice all these experiences!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

These days, values like respect, open-mindedness, trust and positivity are not so evident in society anymore, but then it's heart warming to encounter those very values as basic principles among the CS community. I really like the concept of this project!

Music, Movies, and Books

FILMS: La vita è bella ("Buongiorno principessa!"), Amélie Poulain (pour la musique, les détails, la joie de vivre et le vespa), Altiplano (showing Latin America's beauty and sadness), Dancer in the dark (so touching), Tapas, Lola rennt...

BOOKS: Giaconda Belli (viva Nicaragua!), Milan Kundera, Louis Paul Boon (onze Vlaamse trots), Amélie Nothomb (queer Belgian writer), Jose Saramago...

MUSIC: pop, latin, jazz, classic... all kinds of, whenever it has good vibes and a nice melody (I play the clarinet)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

With the help of some unexperienced guides, we once climbed an active volcano in Nicaragua and got lost in the forest at night, walking for hours without water. In Colombia's Lost City (Ciudad Perdida near Santa Marta), I realised I got lost and was off the beaten track when I stood face to face with a snake. Actually, I reckon getting LOST is a nice way to discover new places - but depending where, of course.

Countries I’ve Visited

Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Luxembourg, Malta, Morocco, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Panama, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Venezuela

Countries I’ve Lived In
