About Me
Hi, I am Eveline, I study Art History, currently in my Master busy with my Thesis.
I live together with my boyfriend in the Netherlands. My hobbies are singing, doing pilates, watching movies and visiting museums. Oh and I love eating and cooking, I try new recipes every week :) I also really love to do hoop dancing, because I love that I have found a way of moving to music that feels really natural to me. I also love music a lot, all kinds really. I used to play piano and the violin when I was a child, now I play bamboo flute and like to sing. I have sung in a youth choir for about 10 years and in a student choir for the past two, where we performed classical pieces with a student Orchestra :)
The food I like to eat is mostly fruit, as I have a major sweet tooth. So I also love chocolate and cookies and ice-cream haha, also I am obsessed with oatmeal! For dinner, I love to make Indian and Thai curry dishes and like to try a lot of new recipes. I have been eating vegan for two and a half years now and love to try any new recipes that mimic things I used to eat.
What I love to do in my free time is watch movies and series. Movies I love are kind of nerdy, for I love almost everything Disney and Marvel. Also loved star wars. But I also like to watch art house films and Japanese anime.
For reading, I like to read anything about magical lands and have probably read the Narnia series about 5 times. Loved Harry Potter and the Hobbit. Currently, I am reading The Lord of the Rings and metamorphosis from Kafka.
I study Art History and love all kinds of art but mainly study non-western arts. My thesis is focused on Maori and their representation in different museums. Recently I went to the Documenta 14 in Kassel Germany, an art event that takes place every five years and it was mind changing, all art was very politically themed. which speaks to me, as my ultimate dream is to help people and to change the world in some way or another. I hope to one day be able to work in a museum with ethnographical collections, with which I can show people the beautiful things from all over the world and to help them realize that our differences are not a bad but a good thing :) I am very idealistic and which that everyone could just be happy and nice and hug and love each other. Sadly I understand that this is not reality, but I hope to bring some of my idealist views into the world with my smile towards random strangers on the bus/train/street to let them see that every day can become a happy day :)
I always like to meet new people and make new friends, I am someone who is very tidy and won't dare to mess up anything at your place. I would love to learn more about countries I am visiting and feel that meeting local people makes that so much more of a nice experience! I am quite a shy person and can sometimes come across as quite blunt, as I like to say how it is, I've heard it's apparently a very Dutch thing. I just don't like to spin around the truth, as that makes things more difficult than necessary.
I love animals and will talk to almost every cat, dog, squirrel, bird etc. on the street, quite random I know, but I am actually quite a random person, who does like some kind of routine at home though.
