About Me
CURRENT MISSION
live, love, laugh, learn - together
ABOUT ME
My husband, Joe (33), and I (39) have been married since Dec. 31st 2010. We both grew up traveling the world which we are choosing to share with our 5-year-old son.
When I asked, Joe said he would describe me as a very open-minded, inquisitive, none-linear person. Joe is also an inquisitive individual and gets along with most people. I haven't met anyone yet who doesn't thoroughly like Joe! Our son has inherited our love of travel and has been to Ecuador, Korea, Spain and various parts of the U.S.
We used to host in our home in Kansas City but, have (unfortunately) stopped hosting since our son was born and since our move to Washington, D.C. We do hope to host again someday and hope to be able to stay with other families while traveling.
PHILOSOPHY
Enjoy life, it's delicious!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We have hosted and stayed as a guest and enjoyed all our experiences. Unfortunately, we are using couch surfing less since our son's birth, but would like to use it again now that he is getting older.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have hosted a few guests and have stayed as a guest with one couchsurfing host, all of which were very nice experiences. My family has also traveled around the world and stayed with exchange families through Servas. Joe has also stayed and met many great families through his travels with his family.
Interests
Dabbling with various musical instruments, swing dancing, graphic design, photography, writing, urban gardening, non-profits, volunteering, meditation, cooking, yoga, philosophy, learning and engaging in stimulating conversations of any sort.

Music, Movies, and Books
We enjoy anything of quality from classical to jazz to indie. Joe also likes Hip Hop. We particularly like foreign films and documentaries.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It amazes me to see families with very little, open their homes and share their small "fortunes" with others, perhaps even with those more privileged. Oh, and of course, I can't forget the guy walking his brown bear down the streets of Delhi!
Teach, Learn, Share
Want to learn how to speak a foreign language better. It would be fun if each couch surfer would teach us how to prepare a signature dish from their hometown, country, or family or share your talent, whether it be music, art, gardening or something else. Other than that, a good fun, stimulating conversation and sharing of cultures/life experiences would be nice.
