About Me
Hi there! My name is Evelyn Ferreira. I'm a 27-yr-old urban planner by training turned decluttering coach servicing clients in the Portland-metro region.
After may exciting years of travel, I'm happy to call Portland home. I'm looking for a very short-term stay (up to 2 weeks) starting July 1st, while my partner and I secure a new place together. I'm excited to see what we find!
I´m very easy-going, fun, friendly, and compassionate. I´m a very organized and neat person - so I consider myself very easy to live with. Given my personality turned profession, I'm happy to help you with any organizing projects you may have too!
PHILOSOPHY
It´s taken a lot of ups and down to figure this one out, but I have come to realize the importance of living in the moment and staying very present.
Do something everyday that truly makes you feel alive.
Do good, be good.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm currently in the process of securing a new apartment with my partner here in Portland. Until that is secured over the next couple of weeks, I'm looking for the opportunity to meet new neighbors.
I'm a professional home organizer and urban planner, and I'm happy to help you out with any organizing projects you might have during my stay. I service clients here in the Portland area.
I've used couch surfing before while traveling through Brazil and Argentina in 2009. I love the idea and really appreciated the help and orientation I received from all my hosts. I also hosted a handful of people when I was living in New York City in 2011. It's been a long time, but I'm back, and hoping to connect with fantastic people this time around.
Interests
Dancing is my life-long hobby. I've trained in West-African and other African-diaspora styles. I love being out in nature, taking long walks, indulging into the occasional marathon design show, writing, learning about Ayurvedic medicine and hebs, and as of recently, dedicating myself to my organizing business and relevant projects.
Traveling is another love that will last a lifetime and I´m only getting started. I have traveled to various countries including France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Honduras, Puerto Rico, and now, Brazil.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have very eclectic tastes when it comes to music, literature, and movies. In terms of music, I tend to listen to rock, jazz, bossa nova, and in recent years, I've come to enjoy EDM.
Some of my favorite reads have been The Life of Pi by Yann Martel, A Thousand Splendid Suns and The Kite Runner both by Khaled Hosseini. I'm currently reading The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Two of my most incredible experiences have happened during my time in Brazil. I rock-climbed over a raging river in Lençois, Bahia and I went hang-gliding in Rio de Janeiro over one of the most stunning natural and urban landscapes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach and hare home-organizing, and tidying. Seriously. It's a thing.
