ABOUT ME

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed in Israel, Belgium, France, Egypt and Latvia, hosted people from Israel, United States, Hungary and Belgium, met people for a drink from: Morocco, Italy, Argentine and Turkey. had some of the beste experiences of my life through couchsurfing: met so many people from different countries from all over the world, not as a tourist but as friends and equals. I think couchsurfing made it possible for me to realise the always fluent and changing individual human quality to the stable fixed identity markers of nationality, religion and culture.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

to live in israel was a really great experience. i was able to see a totally different society than dutch society. It was a weird experience and it was funny to see how the small things made the biggest difference like the time of dinner and the way you meet your friends. It made me realise how much i was used to a certain rythm and way of doing things. I realised that my identity was part of a bigger ( dutch) culture in a way. all together it was a very interesting social and psychological experiment for me :)
