About Me
Hello! My name is Evgeniya and I'm a person who easily gets involved in things and other people)
I have a lot of interests that starts with social science and biology, politics, elections and electoral systems, philosophy, contemporary art, activism, human rights, travelling. I like the idea of sharing and learning from others. I enjoy talking about everything - from our everyday experience to the philosophical questions of the universe. I also enjoy cooking and teaching languages. I wish I could say so about doing sport but this part is still in progress:)l. So if you want to each me how to ride a bike, I would be happy)
I like smart and easy-going people who have good sense of humor and who's ready to share whatever they can. But (there is always but:) you never know who's your kind of person until you meet up.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing gives me a sense of global community where people are open to others. It truly makes a world a better place. I appreciate that and I try to participate as much as I can.
Interests
Once I found a quote on someone's blog: "Science makes me feel stupid too. It's just that I've gotten used to it. So used to it, in fact, that I actively seek out new opportunities to feel stupid". I think I can apply it not only to my studies but also to my whole life:)
I've studied political science for five years so I'm always excited to talk about politics/policy in its different aspects. I'm also trying to do it in practice by participating in different kinds of civic activism in my country. Since last year I've been actively observing elections - in Russia and abroad.
Some time ago I found myself so into natural science that I decided to quit uni and have my degree in biology. I'm absolutely fascinated by the life and the ways it organizes itself.
I might say I'm a little bit nerdy but I can't imagine my life without communication. I have experience in organizing some events; now I'm teaching English and it feels awesome)
I really enjoy talking to different people and listen to their stories. So if you're a party animal, maybe, I'm not quite right person for you .But if you would rather go the bar than to the club party, we will definitely get along:)

Music, Movies, and Books
I like any music that suits my mood. Some of my favorites are Radiohead, the Knife, the Doors, the Killers, Justice and Etta James.I would also love to listen your favorite musicians as I always enjoy finding something new.
Speaking of books - I'm not sure I can tell exactly (I love reading and I used to read a lot so it's a hard choice). I like Richard Brautigan pieces and also some of Russian-Soviet classics (such as Bulgakov's novells, for instance). There are some popular science books that really got me, such as "Freakonomics" by S. Levitt and S.J. Dubner and "The Drunkard's Walk: How Randomness Rules Our Lives" by L.Mlodinow.
Movies - some of my favorite ones are "Big Lebowski" and "Youth".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 7 years old, I wrote a book :D

If we meet in Saint-Petersburg, I can show you some of my favorite places in the city and share with you some of the city legends:)
If we meet somewhere else, I will be glad to offer my company - well, we'll see how it goes:)
