About Me

CURRENT MISSION
I aspire to be a fun and useful person to know.

ABOUT ME
I'm easy-going and find I get along well with most people I meet. I like asking questions. I am an incurable optimist. I like talking to people and doing fun things with people. I stay up late. I work hard. I love my family and friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I make sure to keep expounding the virtues of couchsurfing to all of my prospective traveler friends and anyone with a spare sofa and a friendly disposition.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Mostly hosting people at various places I've lived in Sydney and meeting people for drinks and hangouts in various cities. I once spent a month in Sydney crashing with various friends and family, never more than one night in a row staying at the same house. I've couchsurfed through the website in Dublin, Bologna, Venice, and Richmond (Virginia). It was all awesome.

Interests

I love the 'structured fun' of board games nights and book club meetings, but mostly these are fun pit stops on the way to doing the thing that is really my favourite thing: having drinks with people and talking with them.

I like board games and run a board games festival 1-2 times a year. It's a three-day house party with board games and it's the best.

I've been running a book club for over ten years, and love reading and talking about books. I started so many book clubs because I realised that all I was doing at parties was getting drunk and talking to people about books, so I figured I should formalize the process.

I like many kinds of live performance (particularly indie/alternative music, stand up comedy, and theatre), and will usually say yes if you say "hey let's go to a museum or art gallery."

I walk most places to get around town and this means I consume a lot of podcasts. Podcasts are great.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was an intern for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) in New York City from September to December 2016. That was a pretty wild time to be there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can probably teach about 30 different board games if we end up at a place that happens to have one of these games.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A game I've co-produced called Blood on the Clocktower. I think it's pretty awesome and if you're into it I'd be happy to run a game of it for you and your friends (or not, I'm fine either way and don't mind). It's a murder mystery social deduction game - you're either lying to people or trying to figure out who's lying (sometimes both). You can check it out at bloodontheclocktower.com.

Oh and also I can share wine with you and stuff.
