I have stumbled into a life that is diametrically opposed to the way I was raised. Grew up on a wheat farm in middle America, ended up in the international scene of Cairo!

I host when I can, but get more requests than I can possible accommodate.

Note that I LIVE in Cairo, and have for three years. I know it pretty well and speak some Arabic. If you are an Egyptian wanting to show someone around town, focus on the visitors and newcomers! :)

Interests

Pretending to be intellectual by being logical, laughter, languages, molecular gastronomy, checking out more books that I could ever read, reducing personal consumption, smoking sheesha in gritty local cafes, proving conspiracy theories wrong, sarcasm, reflection, applying the golden rule, improving the image of Americans abroad, meeting people with fresh ideas, dance - Oriental, flamenco, salsa, modern, tap...

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always up for linguistic exchange, both directions. I can teach you the basic salsa step or a nice Egyptian hip-drop. Organic chemistry mechanisms? ;) I would like to improve my photography skills.
