About Me
Hello everyone!
My name is Alex and now I'm travelling around Europe trying to taste the freedom of unplanned journey. I miss this feeling working 10h/day without holidays during the year, so here it is!)
My background is in social science. I' m fond of urban studies, art studies (more about the role of art in urban space) and downside-up initiatives.
For the last year I'm working in international education project for kids and teenagers as a humanities teacher and teacher tutor (~act for academic department in our branch). I like to work with kids, it's really some sort of magic happening around you all the time.
Also I take part in a small interactive medieval-style street theatre. We perform a lot at different historical festivals. Thus I have a will to try myself performing at European streets, singing songs and communicating with public. Hope, I'll work it out)
I can be socially flexible, so that, if you are up for any sort of buzz, I'll be also up for this. I can tall you lots of different stories about my life, about cities in Russia, about social and political issues or whatever. Or, if it is needed, I can be rather inconspicuous) Anyhow, I'll be happy to spend some time with new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think Couchsurfing is an amazing way to travel not only in physical, but in social space also. I'm really interested in how different people live in different places, their lifestyles, habits, culture and etc., and I found CS one of the best ways to explore it.
Also, couchsurfing provides a great opportunity to save some money for other needs, making the journey longer)
It gives you a sense of freedom, because you are not so attached to the place.
But whatever, the main thing for me is that you can meet new people and just talk to them. I think it's really great!
Interests
When I'm not doing any academic or job stuff, I'm really up to have some fun with my friends, do any crazy things, hit the town, camp in the forest near the fire or whatever else.
As I said, I'm participating in a small theatre, where we have a lot of fun.
I like art, music, but all this stuff is mostly valuable for me in terms of social relations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I leaded a social-activist project in Russia for 1 year (with all our local context, yea). As a result we did one of the brightest actions in Russian history last year (1-st may demonstration in Saint-Petersburg, rainbow column). That day we were surrounded by 600 happy people, and I'm glad to think that I'm one of those, who made smiles on their faces real.
Why I think it was amazing? We did it one year ago, but the effects are very strong even now.
