About Me

Hi :)
My name is Ewa and I left my home town in Poland two years ago, trying to figure out what to do with my life, since the normal way of living always felt like being in some kind of a prison. So I thought...it was always my dream to just take a backpack and go somewhere unknown. Why not do it then? So, in the beggining in a very clumsy way, I started travelling around. In those past two years I lived (and then was homeless for a short while, yes) in Netherlands, I was in Bulgaria, Belgium (few months in Antwerp), I lived and worked on the farm at a norwegian fiord (also painted few houses there :)). Then I did my solo hitchhike trip along the western coast of Portugal, went from there to Spain, relaxed in beautiful Elounda on Crete with my friend and spent few weeks on Sicily picking olives. After that I decided to see some of the most famous cities in the northern Italy (I was in Roma, Pisa, Firenze, Bologna, Mantova and Verona). What's next? I don't know, I'll see when it's there :) A bit of rest at home, I guess, first. :)

On my way I am also looking for people that consider living in a self-sufficient community, somewhere close to nature. I would like to create a place like that and after my few years of travelling settle down there.

So, I am kind of a hippie, but reasonable one. Most of the time. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm plannig to travel a lot with a backpack, so staying with people that are a part of a place I may be visiting is a wonderful way to see it's spirit and look at it through someone else's eyes for a while. CS is a great idea, encouraging to be generous and sharing. That's beautiful.

Interests

I love music (lately it is mostly post-rock, minimal, instrumental). I like painting also (I find it fascinating to paint stones! check: https://www.facebook.com/Magiczne-Kamienie-Ewy-ZIelonki-1013258315382466/?fref=ts). And spirituality....This is the most important issue in my life. Meditation, trying some yoga, meeting people that are sharing their esoteric experiences. If you are into deep conversations, seeing things from different angles - I am at your service ;)
I am also very active person. I love biking, hiking and climbing (lately I discovered how much pleasure and strength it gives). Just walking is also my thing. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

As for the books - I used to read a lot of the self-growth books (Osho, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Anthony de Mello, Eckhart Tolle, Carlos Castaneda, Friedrich Nietzsche, Mikhail Naimy, some ancient scriptures etc.). Now I just live my life, enjoying everything that is around me, trying to be grounded and putting some of the teachings into reality. One of my favourite books, although, is Ayn Rands 'The fountainhead' and 'Atlas shrugged'. Movies? I do not watch a lot of them. I consider it a huge event and celebration if someone recommends me a good, touching movie (preferably without violence)!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a solo hitchhike trip through Portugal (with a backpack, tent and a map - no internet access! :) ). I finally did something completely for myself, making my dream come true!

I have found the way of living I like. I do not feel like pleasing others anymore by doing things they expect me to do.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can cook some vegeterian food together, I can improvise very well but I know also some good recipies. :]
Some meditation or yoga? Why not!
Laugh is always welcomed and easy with me.
I love walking. Fast. :) I call it power-walking.
Sitting in silence is also good. Especially with a nice view, like a starlit sky or a sea shore. Admiring nature in any form - a good thing to do. :)
Sitting with good music in the background, too. :)
