I'm a linguist, specialist translator, in-company language teacher, self-employed, sole-proprietor.

In the past I had a cat, a dog, a canary, a guinea-pig, a goldfish, a jerboa, and a snail :)

Currently I don't have any animals but I would like to have a cat.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new faces and discovering new places. I like the idea of meeting new people via travelling all around the world.

Interests

- I am playing the classical guitar for 15 years now, having played on many camps, semi-official occassions, jam-sessions. My wardrobe is busting with song-books.
- I am singing in a classical choir for about 10 years
- I love dancing: rock'n'roll, salsa, boogie-voogie, jive and disco-samba being my favourite. I regularly attend dancing evenings and discos.
- I am painting and drawing in my free time sometimes, and the paintings are hanging on my room walls. My favourite method is: pencil, charcoal drawing, watercolor painting and oil pastels.

- I'm sailing since childhood: inland, sea & ocean. I have a sailing certificate, lots of adventures behind, I've experienced cold Baltic Sea; hot Atlantic Ocean; sailed in almost all the lakes in my country. I have lots of stories to tell.
- I regularly swim and hold a swimming licence
- I hold a scuba-diving license
- I love organizing long bike trips about 50-80 km (mountain or forest terrain), especially trips with bike sacks where you carry all the things with you.

- I organize cross-country skiing; canoeing trips. I love slow, quiet rivers with many curves and virgin nature.

- In winter I go ice-skating and i'm learning to properly skate backwards on a curve.
- I am passionate about healthy cooking, sweet cakes without sugar, vegan diet (although i am not a vegan)

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to enumerate. I like psychological films, drama, Asian films, sometimes action films and trillers.
I am usually not a fan of big Hollywood movies and rarely go the the cinema.
I prefer to watch films at home.
