I grew up in Bermuda, then moved to the States as a teenager. I also spent 5 years in Ireland after university. The Irish weather nearly killed me so I came back to good ole' North Carolina.

I retired from the world of engineering at the ripe old age of 27 (staring at a computer screen was killing me). Travelled and lounged about for a few years. Went back to university for a Masters in teaching. Now I'm blinding some teenagers with science.

I've had some of my best travel experiences thanks to Coucsurfing over the last 12 years. I've hosted some great people from around the world and have experienced some amazing hospitality from hosts. It's a brilliant service. There's no better way to get to know a place than hanging with a local.

Enjoy a lot of rock, some jazz and punk. Most stuff really, except for Mexican Nortena music. Mexicans playing the tuba? Come on!
Read voraciously. Lot of classics. F. Scott Fitzgerald, Steinbeck and Graham Greene are favourites. Got a soft spot for Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice', but don't tell anyone that whatever you do.
