About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To expose myself to various cultures and ways of life
ABOUT ME
I hail from the tiny island of Singapore!
Currently dealing with working life here, which leaves me without much time for travel. Limited to one or two trips a year, but I'm trying my best to rectify that situation :)
I'm really looking forward to diving deeper into the CS community and share my experience to anybody who would find it useful, as well as to exchange interesting traveling stories and tips with fellow CSers!
PHILOSOPHY
I would always strive to do what I want to do, even if it means doing it alone and breaking free of societal norms and pressures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd be more than happy to be your guide and show you around Singapore.
Feel free to get in touch :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
2008:
Couchsurfed in Copenhagen.
2010:
Couchsurfed in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for two days with my lovely host, Caron Margarete.
Still awaiting my next experience. Hopefully it'll come soon!
For now, I'd be happy to help you with regards to Singapore :)
Interests
Photography - I feel that in photos, words do not have to be said. With just the focus of my lens, a photograph is taken. Timeless and nostalgic.
Music - Apart from listening to music, I love playing the guitar, though I've been rather stagnant despite eight years of trying. Music is something even the most diverse cultures and commonly relate to, so feel free to share with me your favourite music and artistes :)
Poker - Texas Hold'em is what I love playing as it's the most popular form of the game here in Singapore. Call me a fish, call me a donkey; I still love the game.
Football/Soccer (depending on what you call it) - Playing football is one of my past times with friends here, though I think I'd make a better armchair pundit!
Astronomy - Right now it may seem like my interests are as vast as the Universe itself, which is probably not too far from the truth. I love stargazing, but unfortunately Singapore is one of the most light-polluted countries in the world. And I also follow NASA's Astronomical Picture of the Day (APOD).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing up a peak on the Dieng plateau in Java, Indonesia to see the sunrise - in flip flops, no less. Remind me never to do that again. It was an extremely uncomfortable climb to say the least.
Squeezing aboard a train with the indigenous villagers in the countryside of Sabah, Malaysia en route to white water rafting. It was interesting to see how their train-taking culture is so different from my own.
Teach, Learn, Share
I regret having not signed up earlier for an account with the CS community after my couchsurfing experience in Copenhagen.
Hopefully now isn't too late for me to make a contribution to the community.
If you have any queries about Singapore, feel free to ask me :)
