About Me
Helloo!! I'm Erica, an American currently based in Melbourne. It's a fun story as to how I got here, which I'll be happy to share with you if you'd like! I spend my days teaching yoga, building relationships, enjoying the sunshine, learning and loving, living one day at a time. Currently trying to figure out how to "adult" - a slow but interesting process. I enjoy meeting people who are on the journey of self-exploration, are motivated to achieve their own interpretation of success, relaxed and easy going, and unapologetically themselves. Other than that, I'm a pretty chilled out girl - keen to explore whichever area I'm in, appreciate a good chat and laugh, then nest up somewhere cozy when the day is through to start another!
As a surfer and a guest, I have the utmost respect for your personal space and property. I'll be more than happy to enjoy your company when works out, but am also independent and don't expect you to go out of your way to accommodate me. I try to show my appreciation by offering to buy/cook dinner, grabbing drinks, or whatever it is that suits :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing was my go-to when I was living in Europe in 2010 & 2014 and shaped my travels in the most amazing way. I loved it because it provided a unique and intimate experience that you can't get elsewhere, was often times more comfortable and obviously cheaper than a hostel, and I got to meet and interact with local people and see things that I wouldn't otherwise have been exposed to.
When I moved home and lived in an apartment with friends we had a phenomenal time hosting. It just felt obvious that I should return the favour, and the guests we had always brought a good time to our home and I was able to still travel without actually going anywhere.
In the past few years my activity on couchsurfing has mostly halted; my living situation is no longer suitable to host guests and I'm also in a phase in my life where I've been focused less on building relationships with travellers and more on the family and friends around me. However when the time is right I know the CS community will always be there :)
Interests
I love yoga because it is a way to learn about and appreciate one's own body and soul - however that is just my way of doing it, so I like to learn the different ways in which others find their own inner peace too :)
I can always appreciate a good dancefloor session.
I guess on my average downtime you could probably find me reading, watching TV or taking a walk

Music, Movies, and Books
As for music, I can appreciate anything live. If I were to put something on it'd probably be something electronic because...just...techno.
Movies - I like deep thinkers and easy going alike. Same for books- I like both realistic and fantastical worlds.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Attended a traditional Vietnamese wedding
