About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Share this crazy unique cool town with as many people as I can.

ABOUT ME

I'm a German national only recently spent a significant time living in Berlin. Before Germany, I spent six years in Indonesia, and six years in America. I've been in Australia since 2009, and set up shop in Katoomba, NSW.

I was working in the mining industry but am currently transitioning to other work. I do on occasion do helicopter work and communication can be patchy at times (long work hours), but I'll do my best to get back to you asap. I try to be flexible and can on occasion accept last minute guests. My availability also depends on if I have my kids or not.

Depending on timeframe and notice, for anyone staying more than a night, we may be able to tee up a one-nighter camping trip.

My home has a roommate, a dog, 2 cats and a chicken. Please take them into consideration if you’re allergic.

We are clean and smell good. Please be the same :)

I do have a spare room and bed that you can use. My house can comfortably accommodate 2 additional people. It’s a modernised and renovated 3 bedroom house.

PHILOSOPHY

Just do the right thing by people. Treat others as I would like to be treated, you know, that good karma stuff. Couchsurfing for me is sharing my knowledge of this part of the world and having a memorable time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting and helping where I can. Generally pretty shy but I open up and have a laugh with people. If you guys come at the right time (work schedule permitted), we can head off road to butter box canyon. Just a 30 minute drive away from Leura. The view is spectacular.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most of the amazing things I have seen or done occurred during my "humanitarian" mission I served under in the German military.

Teach, Learn, Share

I work in a "conservative" industry. I enjoy meeting people who are open minded. So far, all the couch surfers have been just that, open minded.
