About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel as much as the globe as I can before I die, in an open-minded, open-hearted, and responsible manner.

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm James! I'm 28 years old, and I absolutely LOVE to travel. I can't go for more than 2 months without feeling the itch/burn/desire to get out of town! The idea of traveling to a foreign country excites me, rather than scares me, like unfortunately many Americans I know. I consider myself to be very friendly and love having an engaging conversation. I can be very goofy at times, and that's probably the best way to describe my sense of humor. I love hearing people's stories and always enjoy laughing. Discovering new cultures, sights, sounds, smells, and tastes is what draws me to distant lands. If I could get paid to travel, that is absolutely what I would do.

When I was eight years old, my dad took me on a business road trip with him from our home in Leavenworth, KS to San Francisco, CA. Up to that point in my life, it was the farthest away I had been from home. My world existed of the street I lived on, the school I went to, and the local movie rental store, where my friends I and I would rent a movie, video game, and some candy all for under $5. When we set out on our trip, my dad relayed to me that I would be our navigator, and would be in charge of the map. Being the little 8 year old kid I was, I took this very seriously, and set out to plot our course across the western US.

It was the first time I had ever seriously sat down and looked at a map. I was intrigued, to say the least. The whole world (or at least half of the US) had just opened up to me. I suddenly realized just how ginormous the earth truly was, and I knew instantly that studying geography and traveling is what I wanted to do. The rest, is history! :-)

PHILOSOPHY

Man (or woman) is an end unto him (or her) self. My happiness and your happiness should be the most important thing to me and you in the world. I try to live my life with no regrets, constantly expanding and obtaining new knowledge. I've realized over the past 5 years of my life, that relationships of all kinds, are what bring me the most joy in this life. Connecting with other people is so very important to me.
